California Preschool / TK Learning Foundations

SRCS' Transition Kindergarten program is aimed to foster the development and learning of children ages 3-5 years old. Development can range and is unique to a child’s experiences in social, emotional, cognitive, physical and linguistic manner.

There are specifically four areas that SRCS TK programs focus on in student development:

Social Emotional Development:
Children learn to build social-emotional skills and relationships with other children and adults. (This may look like a child recognizing their emotions, managing their behaviors and expressing what they are feeling, or working together with other children in a positive manner).

Language, Literacy and Mathematical Development:
Use of easy language and knowledge to communicate and learn early literacy and early math abilities. (This may look like remembering familiar stories, recognizing letters that are used to write their name, counting, patterns, shapes, etc.).

Gross and Fine Motor Skill Development:
Increase in coordination and fine motor skills such as: grasping, kicking, throwing, using zippers, and awareness of self, space, and direction.

Self-care and Safety:
Understands how follow routines like how to wash hands properly, communicates concerns to adults, and follows the rules.
