DISTRICT AND SCHOOL COMMUNICATION TO FAMILIES
San Rafael City Schools has launched a new form of school-to-home communication called ParentSquare. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and families informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with SRCS. It also directly integrates with Aeries (our student information system - SIS) and provides a safe and streamlined communication platform for District administrators, principals, teachers, staff and parents to communicate in English or Spanish.
SRCS uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR NOTIFICATION PREFERENCES
We have updated ParentSquare so that general announcements and messages from the District or our schools will now be sent by both email and text message to families, teachers and staff. We have taken this step because we want to ensure we are doing all that we can to effectively reach our families.
Given this change, we want to be sure that all parents / guardians, teachers and staff know how to easily customize your notification settings. For example, if you were previously only receiving email messages, and do not want to receive text messages for general announcements, you can update your preferences!
→ In ParentSquare, view your account and then under “notification settings” click “customize your settings.”
→ This ParentSquare webpage is packed with helpful information and step-by-step instructions so you can customize your account to get messages how and when you like!
For even more convenience, download the ParentSquare app (available for free for iOS and Android devices).
