Career Technical Education

WHAT IS CTE?

According to the California Department of Education, CTE is a program of study that involves a multiyear sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers.

SRCS CAREER TECH EDUCATION PROGRAMS

At San Rafael and Terra Linda High Schools, each campus offers an array of programs and courses that provide students with multiple entry points to technical careers.  There are pathways, a series of CTE courses leading to a capstone course in an industry sector, or individual CTE and ROP courses.

TL has multiple pathways in the Arts and Media sector (eg. Games Simulation, Graphic Design) and offers the many ROP course options for students!

In recent news, TL will house the new  Marin Technical Education Center this coming year!

In addition to the MAX and Engineering academies, SR is developing new pathways in Education and Construction.  The Learn to Build construction, and Student Advocacy courses successfully started this Fall!

The CTEIG and Strong Workforce Round 5 applications are underway!

See links to some of the school programs below. Please contact CTE leads at the high schools for more information.
